2019 ASFPM Conference Scholarships

ODNR and OFMA are co-hosting the 2019 ASFPM National Conference at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland from May 19-23, 2019.  As the Host State, Local Officials (Village/City/County Government Employees) are eligible to apply for a SCHOLARSHIP to attend the 2019 ASFPM National Conference.   This scholarship will provide the registration fee for conference registration.  22 scholarships remain available for award.  These scholarships have been funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  


Workshops/field tours, overnight accommodations, travel, and other expenses will not be covered by the scholarship and will be the responsibility of the recipient or their agency.  Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Applications in excess of the available scholarships will be added to a waitlist and notified if a scholarship becomes available.


Applications should be submitted as soon as possible and no later than May 15, 2019.  Notification of scholarship award will be provided as soon as possible.  In order to receive this scholarship, applicants are required to volunteer at the conference for at least four (4) hours. Online volunteer registration can be accessed HERE.


Scholarship Criteria

  • Attendees must be a Village/City/County Government Official performing duties related to Floodplain Management/Mitigation/Emergency Management.  
  • Attendees must be able to attend the full conference (Tuesday-Thursday).
  • Attendees must volunteer at the conference for at least 4 hours.  (Volunteer positions range from room monitoring, checking badges, etc… No heavy labor will be required.)
  • Attendees must complete and return the Scholarship Application by the specified deadline

Membership in OFMA or ASFPM is not necessary to apply for and/or receive a Scholarship for the ASFPM Conference and will not be a factor in choosing successful applicants.


12 Continuing Education Credits (CEC)s toward CFM accreditation are available for attendance at this conference.
