Education/Outreach

OFMA coordinates the “Ohio Statewide Floodplain Management Conference” in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Floodplain Management Program.  This conference is designed as a training opportunity for professionals involved in floodplain management throughout Ohio.  The conference focuses on floodplain management regulations, various aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), floodplain mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, etc... 

The 2009 Ohio Statewide Floodplain Management Conference will be held at The Doubletree, Columbus/Worthington on August 26-27, 2009.  OFMA also coordinates and deploys regional workshops related to various aspects of floodplain management.  For more information regarding any training or OFMA outreach, please contact Alicia Silverio at 614-265-1006 or alicia.silverio@dnr.state.oh.us
